Regarding our 2nd Adoption Journey
We felt it necessary to write regarding our 2nd adoption journey. A friend recently asked us if we can "afford" another child. Our response was YES, of course. This friend then asked us "WHY" are you doing these fundraisers??? We told this friend that YES we can afford another child, however we don't have the huge amount of money it will take to bring the child home. International Adoption is extremely expensive, as we have said before. We do not have the lump sum of $30,000.00-$38,000.00 it will take to bring our 2nd child home. Honestly, we don't know anyone our age who has this kind of money. This is the reason for these fundraisers. We are in the process of getting a Home Equity Loan but as with everyone else the equity in our house has plummeted due to the awful housing market.
Does this make sense? We just wanted a chance to "explain" our side of the story.

Today...
Today was extremely difficult, as a matter of fact this whole Thanksgiving Holiday has been difficult!!! Today would have been my Mom's 59th Birthday. I've been depressed since Thanksgiving :( When my Mom was born she was born on Thanksgiving and every now and then her Birthday would fall on Thanksgiving.
I've been pretty good about missing her but recently I can't seem to wrap my brain around WHY???????????? I tend to dwell on things and it's obvious that I've been dwelling on my Mom's passing.
Our Thanksgiving was sweet :) We went to Ron's parents and boy was it hard not to eat too much. My sister invited my Dad, and us to her college roommates Mom's house. It was FABULOUS!!! We ate and ate and then ate some more!!! Thank-You CK and family for making our Thanksgiving so AMAZING!!!
Now onto the 2nd fundraiser...We are raffling Comcast Sports Tickets!!! WOOHOO!!! Thanks to my Aunt who works for Comcast! Unfortunately, that is all the info I have currently. As soon as I know more you will know more.

It's been one of those weeks!!!
Boy oh boy, has it been one of those weeks!!! Ryan has strep...AGAIN!!! This is his fourth or fifth time since the first day of school. On top of strep, he also has the Croup. We were in the ER earlier in the week. It was extremely scary to listen to your 5 year old bark like a baby seal and trying to get air into his lungs!!! He is getting better, Thank-Goodness :)
The funny thing about strep it doesn't seem to hit just one person in our household. Yep, thats right, I have strep too :( I'm shocked that Ron didn't get it too.
On a much lighter note, we FINALLY had our appointment to be fingerprinted for CIS this week. Which is a good thing considering our Dossier went to Russia in October. Only us :/
We truly do appreciate EVERYTHING that EVERYONE has been doing for us!!! We are humbled by the donations, THANK-YOU!!!
Yes, we are going to raffle off the two gift certificates Saturday, November, 17, 2007, GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!
My Aunt, who works for Comcast, will be donating sports tickets for our next fundraiser!!! Just in time for the Holidays for that special someone!!! Ron wants to keep the sports tickets for himself. He's hysterical, isn't he? We will be doing this fundraiser in about 2 weeks!!! I'll let everyone know when the time gets closer :)

Which Saturday???
We never did say which Saturday we would be raffling the two gift certificates. We just said the winner will be announced Saturday at 8pm...here is the exact date we will be raffling the two gift certificates, Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 8pm. Several friends have asked us to extend the raffle, will this work for everyone?
We are doing another fundraiser, same concept of a raffle again. Probably in about 3 to 4 weeks. We may even have Comcast sports tickets but if not it will be more gift certificates. We hope this makes sense? PLEASE let me know if any of you have any questions.

Our First Posting and Our VERY First Fundraiser!!!
Can anyone tell we are nervous? We have never truly had a blog before about our adoption journey, let alone have we ever done a fundraiser. But first a bit about us...
We are a family that was formed May 2003 with the adoption of our baby boy from Azerbaijan. He truly is the light of our lives!
Our son is a special needs child that was referred to us as a non-special needs referral. We have cried many, many tears but now realize that God does work in mysterious ways. He does not give us what we can't handle. There is a reason that we were chosen to be his parents. Unfortunately, we don't know this reason but we must trust in God's wisdom.
We have always wanted a sibling for our son, whether it be biological or thru the blessing of another adoption. Our son is now five years old, I know I often wonder how he got this big! We adopted him as a baby, at the tender age of 10.5 months old.
As you know the cost of International Adoption is incredibly expensive! We are asking for help from family and friends. We are having a fundraiser to raise money so that we may meet the costs of our 2nd Adoption Journey. Donations are always welcome, whether it may be $1.00 0r $100.00. However, we are not asking for "free money", we are raffling off items. We are asking all those who want to participate to donate $5.00 for a chance at two gift certificates, one is a $25.00 gift certificate from Barnes & Noble, the other is also $25.00 gift certificate from Toys R Us.
Please help us bring home our child and win some cool prizes too. This will be one of several raffles that we have planned.
